I would love to see these when they are working. I am sure as they become more popular they will start promoting them more and we can then really see how good they clean the clothes.

I am still a little bit hesitant about a soapless washing machine. I can not see how you can get out stains, oil, grease, grass stains, grape stains and the list goes on without soap. Now, I have a "green" recipe for laundry soap and I willingly use that. But no soap?

Has anyone heard of or tried these or something similar?

No, I have not tried anything like that. I don't even have the money to buy it. Besides, it looks like one of those get rich quick scheme advertisements that you see all over the Internet.

GreenMoo--

Can you tell me more about the wash balls? How do they work? I would love to go detergent free. But with 3 little ones, I really need to get clean laundry. Esp. when washing diapers! Thanks!

To be honest Evie, I don't know! I remember reading about negative ions and all sorts of technical stuff like that, but I think they just work by creating extra friction in the machine. I imagine chucking a tennis ball in would have the same effect, but as I already have the wash balls I use them.

We farm and I have a little one in washable nappies, and my wash is perfectly acceptable.

I think I would rather make my own earth friendly soap because I will never be able to afford either of these machines. Well, maybe when I'm in my 90s but then it still doubtful. I think they're great machines if they actually work.

Thanks GreenMoo. I did look these up and found some on Amazon. I am really interested in getting them. The price in not bad considering you do not have to buy laundry detergent.

The best ones, in my opinion, are the ones which have a band of foam around the outside so that they look like a planet.

I think I found some of those. Are they called eco laundry balls? I have not seen any reviews for these, but am really interested in trying them. Thanks for all your help!
