Default Cape Wind : Daily Show

Cape Wind is America's first offshore wind farm. Many are against it for several selfish reasons. THe daily show did a segement on it that was extremely well done. Here is the video of it:

MilkandCookies - Daily Show Jason Jones 180: Cape Wind

YouTube - Cape Wind Comedy Daily

Its really funny, but sad as well. Any thoughts?

As a nearby resident of that area I think the people opposing it are only the ones worried about property values with direct sight of the wind farms and believe those are probably a huge minority.

Not to mention that in other places in the world these wind farms are actually tourist attractions and this community where they want to build these is a huge tourist spot already, I dont see how it could hurt. As far as the possible environmental impacts to sea life, I suppose it depends who you talk to.

The second link was removed for a copyright violation, so it doesn't need to be there.

Anyways, I'm shocked at how many people would be opposed to this, as it's a positive thing to do.

In Toronto, we have a wind turbine right on the lakeshore, but it's on land and can be seen almost everywhere.

I really don't see what the issue is for them, the turbines would be miles offshore and not visible.

I know it's a comedy show but still, it's crazy.
