Default Solar Paint

Has anyone heard about solar paint? My husband was telling me that someone he works with had read an article on this paint? I have never even heard of it but I think that this would be great.

I've never heard of that kind of thing before. Is it supposed to make the surface like a solar panel? Now I have heard of heat reflective paint. It's actually an additive that you add to the paint before you paint. According to her thing I read it saves you 20% on your healing and cooling bill. I will find out this summer since I painted my own with the and my cooler.

I heard about a "solar paint" being worked on years ago, but I haven't heard anything else about it. If I remember correctly, it was supposed to act as a kind of solar panel effect. The heat reflective cooler paint doesn't sound like a bad idea, either.

Yes that is what was said that the paint is supposed to act like a solar panel. I am going to see if I can find any info on this and if I do I'll share it here.

Good, because I would love to know how they have turned pain into a solar panel. There has to be some kind of wiring involved to get the power it creates. If it's not too expensive maybe I can start to using solar power.

Sucessful demonstrations have been made, but solar paint is not ready for the market just yet.

Here's an article from NewScientistTech about it. Hope it's of interest.

That was a very interesting article. That will be absolutely fantastic! As I read the article, thought went through my head -- I live in a mobile home and the outer layer of my mobile home is metal. I can see the future now, mobile homes that provide for their own electricity from the sun. I think the mobile home industry is going to boom if this ever occurs.

I read in that article about the cells testtest test in Japan are still at full efficiency after four years. I hope it really won't be another two-and-a-half before they come up with a commercial cell.

Imagine all those acres of warehouses which could be painted with solar paint. It's a fabulous concept with so many opportunities. Let's hope it's on the market soon.

I sure hope it is. If it's a more affordable than the regular solar panels I might even invest it in my mobile home. Anything to help on my electricity bill!
