Default Get a load of this good stuff...

Found a couple of these items at this store today, and decided to post them here.

If anyone's ever by Yorkdale Mall, drop into this store. I promise you won't be disappointed.

I felt like a kid when I walked into it.

OMG! How cool is that?! I loved the Power House!! That looks like a lot of fun. And what a great way to get kids to start thinking about other types of energy!

Thanks for sharing!

You're quite welcome. I'm actually glad I went into that store yesterday, although I hadn't planned on it. Something in the window caught my eye and I said that I had to go in.

You're quite welcome. I'm trying to decide which one I'd like to get myself.

BTW, looking at the solar cells, which one would you buy and why would you buy it?(general question aimed at everyone).

Default Solar Cells

It depends on what you would like to use a solar cell for. They now come in so many shapes and sizes. Normally as far a quality goes monocrystaline seem to be the best. Some man made types are proving to be close in efficiency. It is quit important to consider output and demand factors. If your going to use it as a trickle charger for a battery system then Canadian tire etc... sells them for suggested uses. The ones shown in the above post would require a specific use to suggest the best one to buy.
This is just my opinion, I suggest Googling solar panels.

Relooked at the items and definitely the Power House. Just amazing to think what can work if you just use your imagination! And to rethink about going off the grid.

What a great store! I could spend a day in there easy. I bought my lab equipment, microscope and such there and had to leave before I maxed out. except now it's a 6 hour drive back to stock up. That's cool too and worth a trip or call and get on their mailing list.

Then again; I'm still a big kid.

Hi Simon how are things up in Ta-mang. I worked for the MNR in North Bay at one time, and the Conservation Authority there.
Hope the Red Squirrel road hasn't re-ignited. LOL

Hi Woday

Times are a changin slowly as ever. Surprisingly no, we haven't had a fire in years which is an amazement in itself with the water levels so low here and so many windstorms knocking trees down in the past few years. It's going to go up soon I think. I was taking samples in a swamp last year and the water line was three feet above the clay i was sampling for diamond indicators. It was apparent that the spot I was in hadn't seen air for some time.

Suffice to say, the place is as gorgeous as ever. I came up 13 years ago and left 2 times in that period. Work is helaciously scarce and population is declining with northern resource communities typically struggling to survive market fluctuations and bad management.

I imagine living in Van is some interesting these days, shaked and baked, drowned and frozen. Good Luck out there.

Sim
