Below is a quick list of environmentally friendly Gift tips for Mother’s Day.

1. E-Magazine Subscriptions. If your mom loves to read magazines, but you want to show her that she can do this in a more environmentally friendly way, sign her up for an online magazine subscriptions. Every issue can be read online through the subscription. To be on the safe side, if she does not like this method let her know that magazines can be checked out at libraries and shared with friends too. Look at National Geographic Green Guide online. It is a good start.

2. Go organic. Whether you decide to buy your mom flowers (roses), food (homemade dinner), desserts (cookies) skin care (lotion) or clothes keep in mind that you have the option of buying organic. Clothes can also be bought in hemp, at resale shops, in bamboo or a combination.

Add funny pictures, funny quotes, funny inventions, etc. Put it all together-bind it, staple it or hole punch it together- then place a bow around it. The cover page should say something sweet.

4. “Deweed” her garden. You know your mom is busy with taking care of the world even if means neglecting her beloved garden. Unattended for some time it has gone wild with weeds and over grown plants. This mother’s day “deweed”, compost and mulch your mom’s garden. Then support her and her beautiful natural pesticide free garden with a Pesticide Free Lawn Kit she can proudly display in her lawn. The best part of it is that the both of you can watch your children play in her healthy non-toxic garden.
