Over time you will think of new ways to use common bathroom items, but here are some quick suggestions on how to get the most use out of your cotton swab stash and your antacid medicine.

Touch Up with Cotton Swabs

Cotton swabs are convenient for cleaning out your ears and nose, but they’re also useful for touching up those makeup mistakes, especially when you have a mascara mess. Don’t forget that Halloween is coming up, and you can use the cotton to apply greasepaint for your scary face.

You can also use the cotton swabs as miniature paint brushes to fix a nick and scratch on your walls or cabinets. They work well with both paint and wood stain. For silver flatware and tea sets, shine them up properly with the cotton, because it will be easier to get into those cracks.

Even when it comes to your electronics, cotton swabs are helpful. In addition to sanitizing your cell phone, you can also clean out the battery well — this will enable your phone to charge longer.

Impress with Antacid Tablets

Now that you have adjusted your diet or gained control over your stomach issues, maybe you no longer have use for antacid tablets. Now what can you do with that newly purchased box?

Antacid tablets are great for neutralizing the burning sensation in your esophagus that comes from eating spicy foods, but this bubbly medicine is also amazing at keeping your house clean. Removing stains in the toilet requires elbow grease, but by dropping a couple antacid tablets into the toilet, you will have a sparkling bowl in about 20 minutes. These tablets also do wonders for removing stains. If you have a stain at the bottom of a glass or vase, add warm water and drop in a tablet.

You can also relieve bug bite stings by dabbing the affected area with a mixture of water and the dissolved antacid tablets. Also for kids, you can impress them with a cool outdoor science experiment. All you need is a plastic canister with a lid, water and the antacid tablets. As the tablet dissolves, gas builds up and the canister will fly into the air after the lid pops off.
