oil_refinery.jpgAfter the State of the Union Address, major industry executives have urged President George Bush to enforce mandatory limits to help reduce climate-changing pollution and help reach Kyoto targets. In his State of the Union Address he said that voluntary efforts would be better than imposing laws or regulations. Representatives from the top ten major industries put their request to Bush in writing in an effort to help reduce greenhouse gasses. They proposed having limits on the amount of emissions the companies can have, but suggest that they can trade emission credits. Four leading environmental organizations also signed the letter.
