A team of two amateur tree naturalists will set out to find the tallest trees in the world in the mostly unexplored redwood forests of California. Michael Taylor and Chris Atkins have already documented the the biggest trees in the world, all over 370 feet tall and 2,200 years old, last summer. Now they believe they can find taller trees in the redwood forests in California. These forests are a 470-mile stretch of California and Southern Oregon with giant redwood trees that, more common that not, reach over 300 feet (the height of a 30 story building). To beat the record, they need to document a tree over 379.1-feet tall.
