Global Warming endangering ski resorts

Many places depend on their alpine resorts for a major source of revenue. However, global warming is threatening these economies. The Alps Mountain range has warmed up three times more than the global average, and Austria and Italy are also sensitive areas. With Global Warming accelerating, this is only going to get worse. Several snow events at the World Cup ski circuit have already been canceled due to lack of snow. In Germany, who’s economy greatly depends on its snow industries, a 1 degree Celsius drop could cause a 60 percent drop in reliable snow areas. This study showed that Switzerland is at the least risk, and France has an average risk.
