turtle.jpgAlong the coast of Bangladesh higher than normal sea turtle deaths have been recorded in the past two weeks. The smallest of these turtles, the olive ridley's, are endangered. Scientists have discovered 65 dead so far along a three-mile stretch of the coast, and hundreds more in the area, which is a higher than normal. They have not officially said how they have died, but do mention that there has been an increase of illegal fishing nets in the nearby waters. When these fishermen accidentally catch the turtles they try releasing them, but do not release them properly, causing them to die and wash ashore.
