I don’t know how baking soda would work. That is interesting allgreen, I have never heard of that. I will have to try it sometime.

I hope it does :-) My mom couldn’t use anything remotely toxic in her classroom because she’s a kindergarten teacher and has to be very careful. You can’t trust those kids with anything :-)

I don’t think it killed the ants, I believe it just created a barrier that they didn’t want to pass.

I have never heard of baking soda & salt being used for ants. I wonder if it works on other bugs as well… I guess the only way to find out is to try it. Of course, I’ll have to invest in a lot of baking soda now. It seems like everything I want to try uses the stuff…

Let us know how it worked for you. I love baking soda. My home is never without.

I’m curious to see if it works, too, since I have never actually done it, either.

Salt certainly works on slugs, but it seems a bit cruel.

Even drawing a thick line with chalk will keep the ants away.Diatomaceous earth, not the pool grade one, is also good at keeping ants away.

That is interesting Oceangypsy, have you actually tried using a chalk line to keep ants out? Next time I have a problem with ants I will give it a try.
