It is odd, but our August was pretty mild, all things considering. Now that it’s September, we’re having August — seriously. Our temps have been much higher. In fact, yesterday we had our first 100 degree day since July 5 and tomorrow it is supposed to get there again. As a result, we’re having bad air days where folks are being told not to go out if they don’t have to. Weird weather! |

And I thought it’s been hot here… The city I live in hasn’t reached 100+ yet, just the mid-90s. The city I work in might have reached 100 though, I’m not sure. It’s usually 5-10 degrees cooler at home than it is at work. |

We hit 102 yesterday but just an hour away it was 106, so I feel lucky! |

We did have some warm days this week. On Friday it did cool down nicely though. Today we actually had some thunderstorms and even some rain! Very nice, esp with all the fires we have been having lately! |

Today was great, just high 80′s, so no need to worry about bad air, fortunately. |

I actually got hail on Saturday with the thunderstorm. It woke me up. Today is in the high 70s, so pretty good! |

You know, it’s lightning and storming just an hour or two from here, but it feels surreal. We were 93 again today and are to be 92 tomorrow, and yet there’s all that rain just an hour from me. It’s hard to imagine. |

We had some rain this past weekend. It was just wonderful. I love summer rains. I wish it would rain here more often! |

August was not especially warm in England, so far September has been pleasant but it is cold in the early mornings now and the evenings are getting dark. I don’t like autumn. |

It’s overcast today! I’m excited, I love overcast weather and gray skies. (I sure live in the wrong place haha) Of course, I’m stuck inside an office that doesn’t even have windows. |

lol I love being excited about overcast! I’ve been the same the last 2 days when our high temps have been 82 and 82! Unfortunately, it’s back up into the 90s next week. |

This is fascinating, in England we are never excited about it being overcast! |

You just reminded my of a lady I once worked with deltic. She was from England and pretty much hated the rain and cloudy days. She loved the warm California sun. |

It might be because I grew up in Southern California, but I’ve always loved rain and overcast days. I didn’t even get sick of them when I went to my university in the Pacific Northwest. In the winter, it wasn’t unusual to go for weeks at a time without ever seeing the sun. I loved it! Overcast weather reminds me of it. (I wanted to stay up there, but I couldn’t find a job.) I also have very fair skin that sunburns easily and melanoma runs in my family. I avoid the sun. I think that contributes to it too. |

It is just nice to see the sun, I don’t need it to be too hot but sunshine cheers everything up. We don’t get enough sunny days to make us long for clouds or rain. |
