Hey everybody, hows life? I just wanted to ask how everyone takes care of their digestive track. It is extremely important and makes us feel better. How are you keeping it up? Do you eat specialty foods or do you take supplements? Let me know. |

I have heard of these detox things and they work pretty well. Have you ever tried prebiotic fiber? |

If you’re eating sensibly, I don’t see any need for special supplements to take care of the digestive tract. Yet another marketing con, I think. |

Same here. Drinking enough water is a big thing that not enough people pay attention to perhaps. Having proper fiber in your diet helps as well but I have never done a cleanse or anything like that before so I can’t vouch for how well they work. |

Yep, proper fiber is what I try to make sure I am getting. I do try to drink enough water throughout the day but don’t always get what I should amount wise. |

What about eating yogurt, does anyone think this helps? Plain old yogurt, not that new yogurt with added stuff. |

Yet another marketing con, I think. not so… what about the toxins from the tap water u drink? from the preservatives and artificial chemicals in your food? from the air you breath? from the over the counter and prescription meds? all of these contribute to toxins built up in your digestive system, skin, lungs, and blood. i’m not talking about these ‘detox in a box’ kits they sale non stop at health foods, i’m talking about a true 7 day detox… one with a liquid fast, and digestive cleanse for the inside, hydro therapy for the skin, yoga and breathing exercises for the mind and muscles… take my word, after my detox week i feel damn good!!!! |

I actually said I didn’t see the need for special supplements Workinman. I personally don’t detox, but I would imagine that would be far more effective than most of the supplements aimed at the digestive tract that are on the market. |

workinman: I sort of wonder about making a “week” of it instead of a better lifestyle. I’ve done fad detox, that is basicly juiced veggies and lots of water and fiber. I prefer to just fix my life on a daily basis. I don’t take meds of any kind. Don’t need to take any. I make sure I eat whole, raw, organic fruits and veggies. The more the better. I drink plenty of water, filtered. I researched the filter prior to purchasing it to ensure it gets out what’s in my water. If you are loading up on raw fruits and veggies daily, you are getting enough fiber. I eat yogurt and other cultured items occasionally to get the good bacteria back in my gut. I love a hot steamy bath. My version of a sauna. To whoever posted McD’s. Eat healthy for a year and see if the thought of a McD’s burger doesn’t turn your stomache. Gross. |

Oats help a lot, I eat porridge every morning. I also eat natural yoghurt regularly and lots of fruit and vel. I try to eat simple foods prepared from fresh ingredients and I avoid foods that are not good for my digestion (coffee, artificial sweeteners and fizzy drinks among other things). |
