There is so much talk about Global Warning (and so much damage has already been done) I have to wonder if we’re too late to reverse the damage we have done. What do you think? |

i dont know about reversing it, as it is a natural phenomenon, that is being speeded up by man, but we can certainly slow down the rate of warming. Its not too late for that. |

If we can slow down the rate of Global Warming, Stavy…isn’t that just a short term solution to a very serious (and inevitable) crisis? |

By slowing down I suppose it means delaying the process by thousand or million years….if you look at it…even the sun is just a star that is going to be dead in some million years and that is an inevitable crisis too. |

That is a great response atulag. I fully agree with you. We as humans need to see the earth not as us “owning” it rather as we belong to the earth. And to take care of it accordingly. |

exactly naturelf.. the earth goes through periods of warming and cooling as part of it’s natural cycle.. hundreds of thousands of years of nice weather, followed by hundreds of thousands of years of ice age etc… We just seem to be making the next stage happen a little faster.. with the effect that that more people go hungry… more people go thirsty…. because mother nature hasn’t strted her normal cycle of reducing the population in advance of the next ice age… too many of us for the resources available… and all of us greedy guzzlers of resources. |

Good point, Stavy. We do seem to be hurrying along the next cycle unfortunately. I really hope that we can slow it down, though. |

It’s a little like the whole 2012 thing. It’s just another transition or shift, not the end of everything. |

I often think of this and it comes down to the idea that we as individuals just need to make the best effort we can in our homes and environment. By doing this, hopefully, we can inspire others to do the same. |

People are just way too resistant and then it’s like it’s all about buzz words. It’s trendy but not substantial, if you know what I mean. |

Yes, I know exactly what you mean OrryMain. People throw those buzz words around and often do not even know what they mean, let alone how to do something about it. |

Heard the word “green washing” a lot the past year. Sad to say, it is becoming more common. Just means we need to be savvy shoppers when it comes to eco friendly items. |

What does the term green washing apply to, oceangypsy? And which groups have you heard using it? |
