frankly we do throw a lot of garbage but then most of it is green so I reuse the vegetable peels etc. for my compost bin…on a daily basis there is around half a bag of black bag and almost that much of green bag garbage….. |

Only two of us, and we generate about half a bag a week of non recyclables.. plus a bag of cardboard. plastics, cans etc which our local council collect for recycling every other week. |

6 kids, 2 adults, 1 dog, 2 cats and a guinea pig. We create about 3 black sacks per fortnight, we recycle all paper, plastic, glass and garden waste. |

I was just thinking about all the extra waste products at Christmas. We should all try hard to recycle all that packaging. |

About a bag per week, but about 3 or 4 for recycling. I can do better, I know. There is a community compost dump about a block away, but our city cleaning crew was a bit slow this year, so we had very slippery, icy sidewalks to contend with and blowing snow on some days. I’ll do better as we get closer to spring. |

We started putting seperate trashcans in our factory to recycle wood, paper, plastic etc and we were able to cut down our waste by 70% within a month! |

I’d say that between two room mates and myself we produce maybe two or three bags by the time garbage day comes around every other week. |

I recycle as much as possible so my garbage ends up being mostly from the cat’s litter tray! I do get really annoyed when I see how much people send to landfill without even thinking about it. I believe in some countries like Holland and Germany it is mandatory to recycle household waste. |

We do not quite fill up our trash can weekly. There are 2 adults and 3 kids in our home. We compost, I make most of my cleaning and personal care products and cook from scratch. |

Right now, it’s probably three grocery bags a week of refuge that heads out the door of my home. |

On average we fill our can half way once a week. Sometimes less and others more. It depends on the time of the year. We throw more away during holidays, not so much wrapping but the packaging that things come in. |

Our trash collection company removes items from our trash that can be recycled. I am sure if we had to remove our own items we would have even less trash every week. |

Yeah I thought just about all facilities did that now, but we do have separate cans — green, recycle, and garbage. |
