In my latest electric bill was a bit about shopping for lights by lumens and not watts. It sounded like wattage was not the thing to look for. 1600 lumens was equal to 100 watts. It also promoted a couple of other options like LED which is ‘coming’ but not yet here. They say only 10% of the standard lightbulb actually gives out visible light. |

I’ll have to look out for that. I need to buy some lights anyway (half of my apartment has absolutely no lighting right now, it’s fine during the day, but not-so-great at night!) |

Thanks for sharing that Orry. That is good to know as I had no idea. Guess I will changing the way I shop for light bulbs. I would love to be able to afford LEDs. |

From all I’ve read, once they get the LEDs to be affordable, they are the best way to go because of how long they last. |

Yes, I do prefer the LEDs. I like how they look and they are longer lasting. I also like that they do not emit EMFs like the CFLs do. |

I’m pretty much thinking that as long as they are ‘affordable’ to some extent, that I’m going to try to get the LEDs when they are available here and I need new bulbs. |

I guess if you replace as needed then it will not get too expensive. You will definitely be better off going that route, as they will pay off in the long run. |

Yeah, one or two at a time. It will be a gradual transition; at least, that is what I’m thinking at this point. |
