How do solar panels work? I know photons hit something and make something happen, but I have no idea what it is. My boss has chartered me to make him a solar powered laptop charger from scratch, cause he knows I like to invent things. |

I can’t give you the answer, but I think if you search google, you’ll find lots of DIY forums that can. |

Solar panels are becoming more popular. I have learned that there is an incentive in putting solar panels on your home. The initial cost is what is holding us back. |

Most utilities in the U.S. have incentives for going solar. It varies from city to city as to what that is though. |

Yes, I have looked into the incentives and they look good. Just waiting until it is within our price range. |

It’s the same over here… everyone is jumping on the bandwagon… local councils will even pay half the cost of insulating etc… |

I am hoping that this trend continues and it becomes affordable to all. It would be wonderful if every home was solar. |

The longer time passes the more affordable it should be, as long as the technology continues to improve. |

That is true Orry Main. I was just remembering how far along cell phones have come. A friend of mine had one 15 years ago and it was a monster. She had to have it though as she had a special needs child and she had to be reachable at all times. The phone was huge, it was like a small brief case….hehe |

Elf, my first cell phone was big, but it fit in my purse. My second one was half that size. Now I have a small one. It’s been an amazing transformation. |
