Have you done anything because you thought it was the responsible thing to do in terms of the environment only to regret it later on? |

I think my decision to use cloth nappies fits into that category. It was not better for my child, it limited my choice of baby clothes and it made hardly any difference to the environment. I would not do it again. |

I am not really sure. I would have to really think about it. |

Yeah, I just don’t know here. I can’t think of anything except for the CFLs, which I would second guess because of the mercury angle. I was not aware of the mercury until after buying them. |

I think there have been times when I have made life unnecessarily complicated and burdensome for myself without making a significant difference to the environment. I would agree with deltic that using cloth nappies was a mistake. I also think that believing the organic message was foolish, I now buy ethically reared and local produce because I think that makes more of a difference. |

I am there with Orry Main on the CFLs. The problem is that it is now becoming more and more difficult to find plain old regular bulbs. |

That’s why I’m just going to try out the LEDs. Yes, they are high priced, but they will last a lifetime, for real (okay, almost) lol |

I really wish I had paid more attention to sorting out the lighting when we first moved to this house. It was too expensive to do what we wanted then (it still is to be honest) but i would like more lighting on timer switches and it would be good to be able to turn everything off from one switch. |

I think I am going to look into LEDs. Anyone have any experience with them? |

I don’t have any experience with them oceangypsy, I think it would be worth getting one to try, then if you still thought it was a good idea you could buy more. |

All I know is that I have not read one single thing against them, except for their pricing. |

I admit, I haven’t really tried much in the way of organic or green things. I did try the CFLs & wasn’t impressed with them. I don’t really regret them but I definitely won’t buy anymore. My hubby has used LEDs in his truck & he likes them. I think when we buy our own house instead of renting, we will have LEDs. I don’t even regret using cloth diapers, mainly because at the time of using them, my youngest could not wear disposable diapers & we were in a bit of a financial pinch so not having to buy diapers definitely helped. |

I regret that finances have stopped me doing a number of things that I would have liked to do such as being more energy efficient. |

I don’t know anything about the lights. I’ll admit that my light bulbs were just the cheapest ones at the store… I regret not having a more fuel-efficient car– my car isn’t big, but it has a heavy frame and is an older car. I feel guilty, but I can’t afford a new one. |

One thing I plan on doing when we get our own house is to install at least 1 solar panel, maybe more. My daughter isn’t too thrilled with this, especially since she was fiddling with the Kindle earlier & saw a book I downloaded called ‘Living Off the Grid’ by David Black. I plan on doing as many of the things I read in it as possible… once we get a house that is. Don’t feel bad about the car allgreen, my mom has a Prius & she isn’t too thrilled with it now that she’s had it for a couple years. The specialty maintenance on it gets super expensive once the warranty is up & she says it’s not worth the gas savings. Of course she may not drive as much as you do. |
