Growing your own food is easier if you live in the suburbs, but people without large plots of land are usually left out of self sufficiency conversations.

My city was just awarded a USDA grant for community garden development.
I am especially lucky. Two community spaces are withint 1/2 block of my home. I hope to hbave seedlings ready for spring planting.

I’d love to hear from others who use a local community gardens, or have experience with being semi off-grid in an urban setting!
