Lyndsey asks:Are fluorescent bulbs health friendly?
I keep hearing that they are more energy efficient, but I also seem to remember seeing studies about how this type of lighting is not very good for the nervous system. Has anyone lese heard about how they affect human health?

I don't know abouot the nervous system Lyndsey, but the mercury in them is hazardous, and you need to be very careful when disposing of them, and also take care if you break one. You must immediately open windows to ventilate the room, and pick up the pieces with a damp cloth, and not use your vacuum cleaner..

Use double packets to dispose
Flourescent bulbs are difintely hazardous to health and I recommend you always use two polythene bags to dispose them,tightly sealed...I also know that Havel has actually introduced in the market flourescent bulbs that do not use mercury and therefore are safer to use..both for us and the environment.

Headaches under lights
One of my husband's coworkers develops headaches if she works under fluorescent light for more than an hour so, unsure why that is.
