ramsgate asks:Burning Rubbish

our local football club football pitch has being burning rubbish for aprox 2 years now it has its own club house so mutch rubbish has being burnind on the pitch,they also have their own well water,they burn the rubbish at the weekends latev at night, question is the water safe? and should the paerants be informed? or what?

I think that

depends on what sort of rubbish you are talking about. Garden rubbish and paper type stuff, won't be giving off anything toxic, so shouldn't be a problem.

I suggest you contact your local authority's Environmental Health Officer.

I don't think that

they should be doing this without the parents' knowledge. It sounds like there is some secretiveness going on about this on their part, which doesn't seem right to me somehow.

Natural pyros... I think that their parents should be informed, if only in consideration of their kids' well-being. And get the water tested!

Another point to consider...

There are most likely zoning considerations; the footie club could be breaking burning regulations in their area. This should be looked into.

A lesson in recycling

How about forgoing the next bonfire and separate the rubbish up and take it to your local recycling station? The kids could learn about other ways to dispose of their trash.
