TerraMadreFoundation asks:Ethanol and Biodiesel

Are said to use food for fuel (corn mostly) reducing the amount available for relief efforts. What are your thoughts?

this is something

i've mentioned before on here TMF.. biofuel crops are encroaching on food production all over the world.. especially poorer countries where the lure of the revenue from biofuel production is strong. We will have lots of cheap fuel but the people will be starving. The production of biofuel should be more strictly regulated I think. Just because it is 'green' doesn't necessarily mean it is better for us and the planet.

i think...

the in efficiency to keep the world food production en par with the rising population levels and the fact that these sources both have -however decreased- carbon emission issues makes them dead end.
