Greentechdog asks:How long do you think economy's will survive in an all green world

There is a growing trend to go green these days I myself included but, how fast do you think we will be able to change over our economy's to suit that.10yrs 20 yrs or more Most economy's are geared towards oil and things that come from oil. Do we have to wait till the planet is ruined for many generations before this happens or until renewable technologies are a bigger industry than oil and coal...Big enough to surpass them and drive them out?
