Twiceshy asks:Duped Again?

It looks like auto makers are going for broke with hybrids, which has pushed ethanol to the back of the line. In fact, I have seen interviews with people in ethanol production stating it might be another 7 to 10 years before they develop the technology to the point where corn isn't used for ethanol production, which is the big obstacle to mass production. Moving from corn to corn stalks should be an easy shift.

Do you think we are being duped again?

If so, who do you think it behind it?
I have a hard time believing this, since we all know that potatoes and other veggies will yield vodka.

chris1203 asks:How about...

survival of the fittest? Shall we take any extra steps to preserve something that, perhaps, nature intends to die out?

...has anyone made available a method to harness the pedal-power we use on the exercise bikes, maybe storing electricity in a battery, something like that?

atula asks:Cycling energy

I recently visited a science centre where there was this fun contraption in which you cycled and saw how the motion was used to generate elctricity and light a bulb....I just thought when we excercise on our stationary excercise bike...can we do the same thing and store that energy to be used for some purpose?
