Twiceshy asks:Scare Tactics?

I feel that most of the warnings about crops being used for fuel instead of food truly slowed our transition alternative fuels..

Do you believe these are scare tactics or should people be truly concerned about his possibility?

I think it's valid

There is only so much farmland for growing food. In my area, nearly every farmer was ready to plant corn to be used for fuel, it's worth more. The problem is that if the corn is going to fuel then it's not going to food. There needs to be a balance.

It's scary but true

Yes, the farmland capacitiy of the whole world is limited. If you cut out more forests for land, you are eradicating the forest, if you grow more fuel crops, the food crops suffer and if you grow only food crops, then what about the alternativve fuel sources. Basically a balance and a year long planning of crop planting is required that can help produce crops for both the needs.
