I have been lactose intolerant for years, so I worry about calcium intake. I have heard mixed opinion about non-dairy sources. Leafy greens containing calcium, for example, also contain oxalic acid, which is said to leach calcium from you.

I'm a vegetarian and I try to know the source of my vitamins and supplements, and I've seen some bottles of calcium supplement that were derived from oyster shells.

Calcium plus

Well Calcium in most milk products is added back in because it is destroyed during the pasteurising process. So milk is basically enriched with calcium.

You can find all kinds of products that are enriched with calcium nowadays... from orange juice to tums. I actually chew a lot of tums because I have GERD so I get my calcium that way.
