HereToday asks:As stewards of this planet, do our moral responsibilities extend to the welfare of the animals that share Earth with us?
I imagine I'm thinking in terms of classic cases like the spotted owl versus deforestation or eliminating wolves mountain lions as our habitat extends into theirs.

practical thinking
Most humans do not care about animals when it comes to the basic necessities of life food water shelter etc. so I think most do not conserve animal or animal habitats...but if you put that question in that way to everyone, I am sure...people will atleast ponder over the fact and maybe just maybe try to conserve the planet for the animals too.

Interesting question
They answer would depend on from what perspective you judge the issue. I think for most the answer is "yes, but". It's subjective and I believe a great deal depends on the cute factor of the animal in question.
