TerraMadreFoundation asks:Are Humans "Natural"?

We want to interact with nature, but it seems like we always botch things up. Were we seeded here? (Chariots of the Gods?).....

Yes, But---

What we mean is, why do all of the other species seem to exist and thrive with Mother Earth while we continue to "rape and pillage" the nurturer that allows us to live? Why don't we "fit in"?
Comments:
Humans are "natural" but nothing on earth was "indigenous" at the moment of its creation.

Meteors and other space objects helped form everything from the land to the water and atmosphere.

i don't believe

the von daniken theory at all... we originated here. Unlike the lower life forms though we have developed the ability to reason and the intelligence to be able to mold our surroundings to suit ourselves. Unfortunately we did not at the same time acquire the common sense to use our gifts sensibly and not wreck the environent around us.

Well put, Stavy. We thank you for your insight.

To be honest

I don't really think humankind is damaging his environment that much. If we were wiped off the face of the planet tomorrow, Mother Nature would in noo time have everything back to normal and running smoothly as if we'd never existed. man's conceit is that we are the most important thing on the planet...
Comments:
Again, we seem to agree. Thanks stavy.

Fascinating Theory

There is an author named Zecharia Sitchin who has written many books on just this topic. If anyone is interested in this topic, he's definitely worth a read.

Perhaps, but there's another explanation...

I read Chariots of the Gods, and I wouldn't be surprised if we orginated on another planet. But I think that the reason we ruin the earth is because we are capable of forming the "will" to do so, which is an ability that other animals don't have.
Comments:
You're right, Chris1203. Perhaps God (whichever one we choose) has given us too much free reign over the other creatures, and the ignorance to mess things up even as we watch the horrible results.

of course we are natural

For me man is natural since we are made by God to dwell among Earth along with the other living creatures of this planet. The only problem is that we are abusing the nature.

Comments:
Thanks, chocoguy, for your insight. But why are we messing up our environment, when all other creatures of the Earth seem to benefit the environment?

Becausealot of people are cluless....

At least the vast number are. We are natural creatures, except for breast implants, etc, and the havoc we have wreaked on the poor planet.. A human body "biodegrades" like other "natural" things, given half the chance. Our "havoc"..it will be taken over eventually, by nature..

But, taking the view...

...that if man is wiped out, the planet will take itself back,.I agree with that. But right now, man continues to live on and pollute the planet. I don't see what help that is that for the suffering earthlings right now..

quit this non sense!

argueing wether humans are engineered by aliens or not is complete non-sense! so what if an alien came up and said 'yes we have made you' -will this be an excuse to having wasted time on such chit chat instead of conveying our attention to more important environmental issues or will it be just the thing that releases us from obligations and responsiblities to our planet?
Comments:
Wow! Great input! Thank you, keewi, and PLEASE continue to bring some sanity into the discussions, as they often are thoughtless, misunderstood, and just plain "non-sense"!
