Here in Colorado, U.S.A., and another truly wonderful one is The Nature Conservancy. You're right though, the list is very long and growing!

but I'm going to look it up online. I would really like to check on a lot of different ones and see which are right to devote my time and my money to.

On the Oregon coast, the whales head south to mate, and head north again to their home waters during the year. The whale watch folks specialise in educating people about everything Whale. They even set up educational tables on the 101 turnouts and engage the people right at their cars. Education being the beginning of understanding, I think these folks do a real service for our great, watery cousins.

Located in the South Hills in Eugene Oregon, there is a rehab centre for birds of prey. They take in injured birds from eagles to ravens. They rehab and set free the birds they can, and keep the ones they can. You can see their entire operation, and leave a nice fat donation while you're there.
