This was an unexpected, but logically an inevitable side effect of cleaning up the waters. Should steps be taken to keep the sharks from coming in close to the shore? If so, what should those steps be?

Kill the Sharks

That is the logical step. Any predator is going to congregate where the food is....so kill the sharks or remove the fish.

may i suggest we

regularly appease the sharks by throwing in a politician every week...

Sharks will be sated, and we have less politicians... when we run out of them, we can start on lawyers...

works for me!

Ace Fisch

I think the sharks have a right to be there, even if it is causing a danger to the human population. At some point I think people need to step back and let nature take its course. Perhaps designated beaches where the sharks can swim would be appropriate. Of course, there's no way to make the sharks use these areas, but it seems to me a restoration of the natural balance. Why should humans deny the sharks that?

Aww leave the sharks alone

The sharks are just being sharks and doing what they do. You can't fault them for moving to cleaner and more fish rich waters.

We do.
