I've been to the rain forest in puerto rico, I really wasn't that impressed, it wasn't that big they had a road through it so there was cars driving by... not what I expected.
It's located in South America and covers over 1.6 billion acres of land. It's mostly located between Brazil and Peru.

Did you see the write up in National Geographic about the Amazon rainforests? It stated that much of the rainforests are disappearing due to our needs.
As Bart said, Amazon is the world's largest tropical rain forest. The second place goes to Central Africa where the island of Madagascar is home to many unique plants and animals not found anywhere else.
