I have recently tried to incorporate much more raw food into my lifestyle. I understand all the health benefits and see it on my skin as well. Certain healthy foods, however, are said to release more nutrients when cooked slightly. I have heard this about broccoli and tomatoes. Do most raw foodists still incorporate a few cooked items from time to time, or are there many strict purists out there?
Fruitarians (I knew a few when I lived in Eugene Oregon) don't really cook much of their diet, it's pretty well raw. The ones that combined fruit and nut seemed to be pretty healthy.
