many meals where beans are either the main dish or a very important side dish? I would love to find recipes for more bean dishes so that I can partially convert to vegetarianism and not have to have any animals kills on my behalf.

we eat meals

which are just beans/pulses/lentils quite often. Couple of times a week usually.

It is a part of greek cuisine.. I'll have to sit down and type you up a couple of recipes when i have time.

And many Mexican and other Latino meals have "frijoles" as a main ingredient. Mighty tasty, too!

black eye beans

boil with some greens... (spinach or any other green leaf type thing you have over there)

Drain, add olive oil, fresh lemon juice, and serve with anchovies or tuna and fresh onion..

Moujendra which is sort of mid-easstern, but a popular dish in cyprus..

Lentils
Onion
Rice
saltto taste

Boil Lentils
chop and fry 2 or 3 large dry onions

Drain he lentils and add fresh water, add a cup of rice, boil.. when rice is almost cooked , add the fried onions, gently simmer until the water is gone... eat.. :)
