We sometimes grow large amounts of strawberries and raspberries and end up with huge amounts that can't be used. we noe puree all the extra fruit in a smoothie maker and pour it into plastic freezer bags and stack it in the freezer. We've found thst defrosting and adding a little water makes lovely fresh fruit juice drinks... Any other ideas?

That is a good Idea....

Another thing you could do is to send them over to good friends of yours..who live far away and just love those fruits...;)

RE: Freezing fresh fruit juice....

I like freezing fruits whole. The process tends to make them sweeter as the cells breakdown, slightly.

The frozen fruit makes a great topping for frozen yogurt.

I freeze raspberries and strawberries as well as well as black and recurrants whole too... we seem to make better use of them pureed though.
