produce fruit but don't ripen them. I don't want to use chemical additives of any kind to boost growth.What can i do to help them along?

Sounds like they are hungry
Have you tried feeding the soil around them with more organic compost? It sounds like the trees are lacking in some nutrients. You might want to start with having the soil tested.
