A lady I once knew used to give any blood that had collected from steaks in their packages and pour them on her rosebushes. (Yes, I'm totally grossed out vegetarian-wise...!) She said that blood was the best thing for them. Her roses looked OK but not spectacular. Anybody heard of this practice, or the results?

My potted plants are regularly infested with black ants that bore the soil and slowly lead to the death of the plant. Can you suggest a good solution...ecofriendly ofcourse.

I heard that sprouts, like bean and broccoli sprouts, actually have more nutrition than the mature plants.

Wouldn't this be the best thing to grow if you live int he city and have little land available?
