stavy asks:Tulips

I don't know why but I just can't get these flowers to grow in my garden. I have no trouble ith anything else. Is it possible there is some deficiency in the soil? I've even been to Amsterdam and brought fresh bulbs home... but nothing doing? Any suggestions?

(First one to say 'plant roses' gets a smack!)

plant roses...;)

Some tips I can give are,
1.Sandy soil is best for Tulips (or any bulb) to increase and flower in later years.
2. Good Drainage is essential.
3.For best results plant bulbs in October or November.
4. As a rule of thumb, the depth that tulips should be planted is approximately three times the length of the bulb.

hope this helps...

Sorry, but no...

I cannot give you any advice on growing Tulips (or any other plant or flower, except WEEDS), because I have the exact opposite of a green thumb. I tend to KILL any plant I touch, lol.
