Beans and corn grow well planted together. Do you know of any other happy complementary plants?

you could try

carrots with leeks... it seems that leek repels carrot fly, and carrot repels leek moth! Also if you plant garlic near your roses it keeps aphids off...

You know, I feel stupid. I grew up on a farm, but never really got involved in any of the farming. I did not know that certain vegetables did better if grown together.

Companion planting

that is what it is called technically I think, well from my experience you can grow
1. Peppers and tomatoes
2. Bean and most vegetables and herbs
3. cabbage and onion or spinach

Here is also a link to help you choose the best companions...
