stavy asks:can somebody think of a way
to make me remember to take my shopping bags with me when i go shopping? I've tried laeving them by the front door... I've tried putting them in the car, leaving notes ont he fridge etc.
I STILL forget and end up buying another one because i don't want to acquire any plastic ones...

Making new habits
I had the same problem - and now have an extensive collection of reusable bags. Several strategies have helped:
1. Make an organized stash of bags and have them in an obvious place by the front door. Consider blocking the door or hanging them on top of your coat - just to help you remember them. (I also include washed produce bags for reuse.)
2. Keep a stash of bags in the car - and move them into the front seat when setting off to the grocery store. Anything that helps you remember to take them in.
3. Keep a small bag on your bag/purse/backpack. I have a small one that folds into a pouch and clips with a carabiner. It has been wonderful for spontaneous purchases and travels everywhere. Many stores now sell them for $5-6 or less.
4. Keep trying. Even if you forget a bunch of times, it will eventually become a habit and easy to remember. I now have to scrounge for a spare plastic bag for those occasional uses ....

Ditch the purse
You name it, I tried it. I even got them to put my cart in the freezer while I went out to the car to retrieve them. The only thing that worked was ditching my purse and using the nest looking one as a purse. I keep a couple extra bags in it at all times, and ive got extras in the car. For some reason since I have to grab that bag, its easier to remember to grab a few extras.

i have one of
those little fold up ones.. kept it in my handbag..great.. then when i used it, brought it into the house to unpack, and left it in the kitchen.. sigh.. someone suggested putting my doorkeys int he bag, but then i'll leave them behind when i go out to work. HELP!
