contemporarily, humanity is at some point that is considerable as being little more infancy reganding genetical sciences... how do you find our current standing in terms of the achievements at genetics? will it do us any good? and most importantly should we continue the researches on genetics?

Come to think of it...

Man has manupilating what's natural all his life...isn't farming too a manipulation when we could have survived by hunting and eating fruits...I realise we are all the worst enemies of what's natural and how we tend to alter almost everything...
Comments:
i agree to that, mankind could not have come this far without meddling with what is "so natural"... but the deal here with the genetics is the speed at which things are happening.
today, caution is generally left out of the equation for the sake of quick gains whether be it money or scientific recognition.

Ask a genentic engineer...

and he will say that I am doing a lot of good to the humanity..I am trying to produce crops that can feed more people and thus give hope to the malnutritioned, I am trying to develop cure to many diseases and genetical disorders that can allow many to live....
So yes...morallly speaking we may be doing a lot of manipulations in the natural world, but somewhere the gentic engineering is helping do a lot of good too.
Comments:
the action is more important than intention in such area of science... altering genes very oftenly cause "unforeseen and unwanted" side-effects.
i think humanity should be (extremely) cautious as well as being determined to advance.

i don't know

buti think it doesn't maater whatwe think because 'they'aregoing ahead with it anyway... already there have been changes thatwe are noteven aware of, and 'control; is haphazard at best...
Comments:
all the living the subjects attached to them steadily move towards demise... but does it have to be like this -always bent on creating all new hazards upon already existing numerosity! this is surely the most nightmarish sight of the capitalism.
the consumers are seen and being treated as mere test subjects for their "money making experiments"!

Keewi, Can You Tell Us The Side-Effects?

We agree that tampering with Mother Nature might be dangerous, but you don't give tangible facts with the alarm. We would like to know, so that we can proceed safely. We you show us the actual harm that we are suffering? Sometimes we get confused by all of the talk.
Comments:
the advent that genetic engineering on consumer goods brings may not be known if there isn't sufficient statistic yielded from a large enough populace... hence i cannot point to specific factor as right now.
But! the fearfulness is bacause of the variety of the mutagenic factors and also for the vulnerability of human biology at molecular levels.
there is a saying in which i think i am badly caught... "the more knowledge possessed the more one is at unease"
You are too humble:-)

What is the soution?

Now that we know a itte about the harms of gentetic engineering, how do we tackle it
It is everywhere in what we eat drink, wear too
so do you just stop using genetically manipulated things or look out for those that were the result of a more concious research and testing?
Comments:
indeed however belated, consciousness is of value... and as for the avoiding part, not much can be done except from warily made commerce.
but be restful, here we have identified the problem... and i have seen more often than once, that however small seeming notions and benignty can incessantly grow.
if there is any holy fate, we are in it!

They say...

that genetic engineering will be a good thing, but many times there are unforeseen (negative) consequences for fooling with nature.
Comments:
and presto! fooling around is one thing, marketing the "fooled around" is yet another... when they're bent on achieving the goal to make an ever-fresh-staying orange, end consumers tend to be the ones discovering that nasty bit of the whole story.

exactly that

keewi.. we are being experimented on, and mostly without our consent. Once they have let the genetics genie out of the bottle, there is no way to get it back in.

by the way, apologies for my truly awful typing in the post above.. i must have been drunk!
Comments:
and there is the readability rule, as long as the first letter and the last are correct one can "meaningfully" read the words even if the letters in-between are garbled up...
so don't worry about such a thing about here where the "meaning" and the "power of the will" quiet oftenly prevail! :)
Nothing wrong with nice "toddy" from time to time!

now that i have painted out the tiger right on my scope

i hope to be understood for my zealous exclamations...
as yet, i also can say that i am and have been since my conscience got competent enough, really trying to temper my attitude so as not to become over-pressing in my quest to deliver benvolence no matter how confident i am in relation to my selfproclaimedly good deemed deeds and motives. the thing is that i sometimes get too enthesuastic forgetting about any moderation to my stance.

Well, poof goes that compliment...

Keewi had a good point about genetic manipulation being done for money (which it should not); but I don't know now if that was meant after the hurricane of words that came right after that. Keewi, can you go more for substance and less for "big words" in your posts? I'd rather understand what you are saying than be "impressed" with your verbiage?
Comments:
will do... :)
and by the way, the point was exactly that! ...and some more, as i have "plainly" pronounced in my clarifying comment to attula: scientific recognition.
