stavy asks:Eco Living

I've mentioned elsewhere about the eco towns being set up in the UK..

Would you choose to live in one? Despite the many restrictions and regulations you would have to abide by?

interesting

that nobody here, although we all profess to want to follow a greener lifestyle, would consider living in a town designed to be that way?

(that includes me btw)

Is The Maverick Steer Less Green

Than the herd mentality of those who feel the need to be cajoled and stroked by fellow eco-folks? Humans are indeed a strange species--some seem totally helpless unless they are surrounded by others of the same mentality, while others are quite satisfied choosing the road less travelled. Live with the herd, or live individually--so long as the Planet is the top priority it shouldn't really matter.

i think that's it

TMF.. green types tend to be individualists.. the idea of living in a space with loads of restrictions, even if they are 'green' is against their nature.

I don't know

that I would ever choose to live in one of these cities. I think that it would have to be made law for me to live in a place like that. But it could be just my perception of having a very restricted lifestyle in an "eco town."

where there is restriction...

there also sprouts temptation... though not all restrictions are susceptible to breeding "infidelity".

the real solution is not restrictions that are made to be abode; it is the regulations dependent on social instigations that really matter... and for that a whole society, preferably by the width of a nation, has to be worked on, and this being a process that takes... some time.
