My cat, Stevie, currently uses a litter tray because we moved house - but she'll go outside soon. She eats Whiskas wet cat food, which is full of very non-organic meat, I'm sure...

Easy One Kitty

When she goes outside and does her thing. She will be putting it back into the soil. This will in time turn into fertilizer, aiding in the growth of some plant and poof. Your cats foot print is reduced all on her own.

Good one :) Kills two birds with one stone :)
That's great! LOL. How about feeding her? Those Whiskas pouches really bother me - in terms of recycling, in terms of them being full of meat ... what are my options here?
When I had cats, they rarely used litter boxes and to be honest, I never used litter bags (why put more plastic in the landfills). I simply cleaned and disinfected the litter box when I emptied it.
Thanks DebraJean45 - I agree. I'm doing exactly that. Apart from anything, the kitten rips the plastic to shreds if you try to put a liner in the tray anyway!

So come on guys, how about the food question? What do I feed the cats?

Reducing carbon pawprint

The meat in catfood is often the parts of the animal that is not consumed by humans, this means less waste.

Look for brands that use food from sustainable sources.

Buy locally made pet food.
