Twiceshy asks:How far should we go?

While we obviously need to curb the amount of waste we each produced, and need to be conscious of how food is handled before we consume it, I have a feeling there is a point where we stop helping ourselves, and actually start doing more harm than good.

When do you think you might reach that point?

How far should we go?

Where many might have us living as early settlers did, I would rather keep things reasonable. We can be conscious of how we create waste, but making this a demand shouldn't be part of the equation.

Incremental mitigation

If we get too draconian on the public we'll see well-financed and stubborn resistance to viable conservation methods. My assumption is that measures will be more effective if they are introduced incrementally, with a view toward improving a situation instead of solving it.

Time will tell

This is not a question that can easily be answered. We humans tend to go overboard on everything, so I think that time will tell when we've gone far enough.
