Good or bad, really depends on how you feel about it
Well I won't for certain says it's better because you must admit somethings are a bit difficult to buy online - somethings you just need to be there to know if or not it will work for you. Yes it does help cut down carbon emissions but you must also appreciate that in order for the item to get to you, it must also travel so it won't exactly be zero carbon footprints.
So it's a matter of preference really. Somethings I buy online, some other things I still venture out to buy for myself.
If you prefer to shop in person then just be wary about the travel method and frequency. If it's near, take a walk or car pool etc.
There are options you can take to reduce the carbon footprints so you don't have to feel guilty about taking a trip down to the mall/departmental store.
You don't have to commit 100% of your shopping to being done online to help the environment.
