Smoking isn't good for anything.. not your health, not the environment around you, yet i know many people who profess to be green who still smoke. How do you reconcile smoking with otherwise 'green' beliefs?

So, how green are you?

Are you 100% green? Until you are, you might want to check the attitude. Smoking isn't a big problem for the environment.....even the planet itself smokes.

Greener Smoking habits

Its definately an addiction. I don't like smoking... I just get stressed out and need something to calm me down. I've been mostly smoke free for the past 3 months. I've smoked the odd time that something stressful has happened or while I've been drinking.

When I smoke I do buy the regular sized smokes because the tin foil isn't attached to the cardboard. This means I can recycle more of the package.

Yes I am that much of a hypocrite that I spend the time to pull my smoke packages apart ,separate the plastic from the paper and recycle it.

Good for you that you make an effort a lot of people don't... I hope eventually you kick the habit I know it can be a lot harder then its said..

Addicted to the smoke

I know that on the face of it being green (which I try to be) and being a smoker (which I no longer am, going on twelve years) seems to be a contradiction, but I really consider tobacco to be an addictive substance and it sometimes takes more than ethical willpower to overcome the dependency.

errr no i'm not....

though i would like to be.. and what attitude??? I asked a simple question, why do you do it.. and there have been some interesting answers.. The addiction viewpoint is a most basic one, and obviously it seems that no matter how strong your views, an addiction like this will override it.

Oh btw, i will disagree with your comment that smoking isn't a big problem.. even most of those who smoke, agree that it IS..
