L.Angelina asks:Would you go vintage?

Buying second hand items are a big turn off for some people. They'd consider the act to display a person's attitude (i.e. cheap?) Buying off places like E-bay would be "disgraceful'' to them. Do you buy vintage and would you consider buying something used off Ebay to give as a gift to some dear?

I would definately go Vintage

I've been shopping at Value Village since I was a child. Our whole family trades clothing with each other if we grow out of it.

I wouldn't buy used clothing of ebay though. I'd like to try them on first. I don't think I would give someone something secondhand as a gift though. A lot of people would misunderstand.

Value Village and more

There is also Goodwill and the Salvation Army stores, but one of the very best ones I've found for gently used clothing is St. Vincent de Paul stores, I often find very newish high quality clothing there.

Go Vintage, Go.

I really enjoy shopping vintage and used clothes. Many times I can find wonderful deals on outfits that have never even been worn. As a kid I was touted to Goodwill stores on shopping trips, it worked well for me, who always ruined my clothes, and my parents who saved money. I see nothing wrong with it. It's a very good form of recycling and many times, adding to the local economy.

As far as gift giving, I'm not to sure. Perhaps if I found something particular to the person, but in general I agree that it might be misunderstood.

Definitly with Kids

It's easy to do with kids who are 1 or 2 years behind... it's great on the environment and easy on the wallet same thing with toys you can regift your toys even to your kids as they forget what they got just 6 months ago.

Yard sales and church bazaars

During the summertime we go yard-saleing and we also watch the newspaper for church and civic group bazaars and we've found quite a few goodies that were excellent clothing gifts. It's fun, too.
