Taiwan that is supposedly a developing country and quite small..has developed a solar powered stadium that can generate 100% of its electricity from the sun,can hold 50,000 spectators and is made with over 8,000 solar panels. Isn't this a fine example of green technology that every coutnry should follow...Afterlall stadiums do consume so much electricity during any game...

Sort of hard to imagine

Atula, can you give us more info? The math doesn't seem to add up. Is there a website where we might learn more? Although we agree that the Sun is surely the answer to our energy needs, we haven't heard of such an efficient system, and would love to learn more!

Terra..Here is a link of the news...Taiwan has iunvealed it for the upcoming world games in July...http://www.businessgreen.com/business-green/news/2242685/taiwan-unveils-solar-powered
VERY IMPRESSIVE! Having viewed the Businessgreen site (and saving it in favorites) we concur with you that it truly seems possible to run things from the Sun, if we put our hearts into it!

It's a wonderful example...

that other builders of huge edifices should definitely follow. I don't know of any solar powered stadiums in the US.

Great technology...

I also think that the body hear from a packed stadium would generate a lot of natural, reusable energy, lol.

What a dome

That is amazing. Imagine the electricity you could save from the using the power of the sun, not to mention that you are contributing against the fight for Global Warming.
