While I want a hybrid vehicle, I am not wiling to buy one that is brand new. The costs for payments and plates are unacceptable, IMHO.

As the market dictates
Probably later rather than sooner. Human nature is by far the most powerful influence on any commodity's value. The more we want to help the planet, the more environmentally friendly products will be made and sold. Doesn't sound at all bad!

a number of years yet SageMother. The whole idea is to be economical, so they are not meant to be changed for a newer faster model every two years orso...

Used hybrids...
I think they may start popping up here and there fairly soon. I agree that many people will probably tend to hang onto them longer, because of their green intentions and the cost of the vehicles - But I think maybe some people will still want to trade, possibly responding to different models or better deals.
I was a little surprised to start seeing the new ones out there. I think there were more out there than I realized.
