Have you found how much lead it takes to damage the human body or cause birth defects?

I usually like to know about how much or in what concentration a substance has to occur, and how, before I freak about it being in a product I use.

I tend to either tint my home made lip gloss, but if determined to use lipstick, I don't worry about its lead content. I am past my reproductive years and, if I remember correctly, lead effects children more than adults.

I could be mistaken, though..

I just read, somewhere else, about the bad chemicals (including lead) that are in lipstick and I am APPALLED. I'm going to go shopping for some "green" lipstick."

I would be very suprised if there was a single green lipstick on the market to be honest. They are probably all made from a combination of harmful chemicals.
