RE: personal choices

Things like this require compromise. The pro-environment partner needs to make recycling and such as easy as possible for the partner, who isn't nearly as invested, to participate in recycling efforts.

It's foolish to try and make partner "want" to do anything. Trying to change their minds create hard feelings and can end a relationship.

Just arrange things so that both can live in harmony.

I think that

it might be a battle, depending on how set in their personal choices they ARE. If the non-environmentalist refuses to particupate in any of the environmental choices of the spouse...that could spell BIG trouble.

...Or try an object lesson

For example, if he balks at using your nice organic shampoo, buy him a big bottle of the cheapest shampoo, the type that uses formaldehyde, and say "Knock yourself out, honey"....

Something for the both of you to consider...

Whether it is chemically or naturally derived, did you know that if your list of ingredients (food as well) lists carmine, that you are encountering dried, crushed bugs? That's where the red colouring comes from. Don't believe me? Look it up...!
